Top 5 Marketing Ideas for All-Pro Football 2K9

Everyone know's that 2Ksports lack marketing skills compared to their EA counterpart.

This might be because they do not have the money that EA has but still there are many ways to market the game creatively that will capture viewers attention.

I think this years APF2k8 advertising was a bit boring. They really need to step out of this "rap" advertising and just come out with something interesting.

I hope 2Ksports see's this and maybe they get some idea's from this.

So here are the top 5 Marketing ideas for APF2K9.

That's some funny stuff, lol.

In all seriousness, 2K really just needs to go back to their roots and cut the crap. To me APF 2K8 is not a serious football game, with all of the silly stuff in it. I heard Thomas and his people say "this won't be NFL poseur" and I appreciate that thought, but they need a reality check. People were willing to deal with not having NFL, but they weren't willing to play with awful looking uniforms and names like the Atlanta Wasps... the Wasps? C'mon.

Here is what 2K needs to do:

1. Just go Madden 64 style, give us all of the 32 NFL team CITIES, and have colors close enough for us to recognize, but be able to change (with logo importation!)

2. Have total customization of all names, with a DEEP audio database.

3. Get rid of the Legends, or make them just an option.

4. Get rid of the dumb stadiums.

5. Record some actual new commentary from Dan and Peter and not rehash the same stuff we've heard in 2K5. And for God's Sake, can Dan and Peter sound a little more serious?

6. Get rid of the player model design. Just update the models from 2K5. Those models were excellent.

7. Optimize the on-field graphics: the grass in 2K5 actually looks better than 2K8's! And the players from far away need to look a lot better. You also need to improve the lighting as it stinks in 2K8.

8. Overall, copy the blueprint from 2K5. 2K5 was the greatest football game of all time. Why try to top something that can't be topped? Just copy the presentation style, and update the overlays. It seems like a no-brainer. Hire a separate guy to do the halftime and post game highlights. But please, no post game interviews.

9. Market this game as a "Design your own league" concept. If you look at a huge percentage of posts on the net giving ideas, the majority is asking for just that type of game. Don't half ass us in 2K9, 2K. Give this to us!

Those are really good ideas, but i have a feeling they will keep the fantasy stadiums.

If they include a Create-your-own mascot that runs around in the fantasy stadiums, now that would be awesome.

2k failed with 2k8, although they get some slack for being short on cash. The league MUST be fully customizable, and what is the deal with limiting the number of legends? = retarded. Also, legends should be optional and put a damn franchise mode in it. Graphiics and crappy uniforms must be upgraded, and PLEASE get rid of the skinny numubers. Presentation needs to be completely overhauled, and let us create our own formations... and on and on and on...

I do agree 2k5 was the greatest football game of ALL time. And 2k8 honestly was by far better than madden. Madden had NFL teams thats all the had on 2k8. I think i know what 2k9 needs to set their games off. Thats add your own face and your own voice. Record your own trash talkin. For example let us add 3 quotes about 5 secs long and add that to your player. Also post your picture on the game so you can put yourself in football. Everyone always wants themselves n games so i think they should do this. Another idea is have 2k post celebrations on xbox live or the PS3 platform and let us download them to the hard drive. For example go all the way back to the most entertaining TD celebrations from past to present make em post em online and let us download as many as we want. Throw in some funny ones as well. Let us even have a create a celebration scene feature as well. Like firework noise your own music and TD celebration actions not with just one player but multiple players involved with the TD celebration as well. GET BEYOND CREATIVE 2K. Set off the sports world. Make football fans wanna stand out side for 2 days to buy your games.

Lets be realistic about what we are asking.

A FULLY customizable football game would be a major project for any software company.

AllPro2k8 has a great foundation.

hello everyone
its great to see 2k making football games again
i really enjoyed 2k8
what i would love to see in 2k9 is an actual footbaall liscense
it could be done
how you ask?
the cfl!!
with this you'll get real teams and the support of canada behind the product as well as us 2k diehards
you could take all the teams from the cfl even the ones that where here in the usa put them in ther game for canadian fans
and then for us why not take and give us the leagues that did'nt make it
you could do this in three different eras
the 70's the world football league
the 80's the united states football league
the xfl from the late 90's/2000 whenever it came out
you could also have it to where say a team from the usa plays a cfl team in canada play by cfl rules there
and then the cfl plays a team here they would play by that teams rules
it would create something different in the world of football for us to play
and getting back to the cfl thing
you had a real championship to fight for for if you played the cfl end of the game

Just do the same thing as 2k5 i loved it still do.
just update the graphics...
give us 30 teams to customize and good uniform modifications... and good stadium options to pick from... 2k5 is the foundation... give us new comintary stuff that ea wouldnt dream of your 2k5 should be maddens 2k9...lol allow the game to name the players that we don't create and bam!!!! you got a sale. show gamers on your advertising and they will be followed by other gamers who are tired of waiting for Madden to do what 2k5 has already done... trust me
